What Does a Senior Auditor Do?
As a Senior in Audit & Assurance, you’ll take ownership of key sections of audit engagements, lead junior team members, and ensure high-quality outputs aligned with international auditing standards. Your responsibilities include linking audit risks to procedures, managing client communications, and helping meet critical audit milestones across the engagement lifecycle.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Build trust with clients by understanding their business needs and risk areas
- Manage and review audit sections with clear links between risks, controls, and findings
- Supervise staff and coordinate with offshore and onshore teams to ensure deliverables are complete
- Adapt audit instructions and referral templates for group audits and component auditor reviews
- Analyze financial records, perform risk assessments, and provide actionable audit insights
- Maintain accurate audit documentation anticipating reviewer questions
- Understand industry trends, regulatory expectations, and business cycles
- Demonstrate professional skepticism and engage stakeholders beyond the finance function
- Ensure deliverables meet audit quality milestones and deadlines
What Skills Are Needed for a Senior Auditor in Dubai?
Education & Certification:
- Degree in Accounting or a related field
- CA, ACCA, or CPA certification is preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public auditing, preferably with a Big Four firm
- Proven ability to supervise teams and manage client relationships
- Strong understanding of accounting judgments and auditing conclusions
Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of international auditing standards and financial reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
