This is a prestigious opportunity to shape a state-of-the-art opera house that will welcome over 30,000 visitors daily and redefine Dubai’s cultural landscape.

What Does a Design Director Do?
As Design Director for Azizi Opera, you will lead the full design lifecycle of this iconic cultural project. From feasibility studies and design brief development to coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams and oversight of design documentation, your leadership will shape the future of performing arts in Dubai.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Oversee the design and development of Azizi Opera from pre-concept through to construction documentation
- Lead a team of architects, engineers, and consultants in a matrix project structure
- Prepare a state-of-the-art operating manual for the opera house referencing international benchmarks
- Manage interfaces between design, site supervision, third-party consultants, and contractors
- Ensure compliance with Azizi’s technical and quality standards across all project documents
- Drive design feasibility with consideration for cost, constructability, sustainability, and long-term maintenance
- Participate in procurement strategies, contract execution, and tendering processes alongside design management leads
- Keep abreast of and ensure compliance with local and international codes, building regulations, and authority submission requirements
What Skills Are Needed for This Role in Dubai?
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field
- Proven experience in delivering opera houses, concert halls, or major cultural venues is essential
- Strong portfolio of successfully completed large-scale real estate or civic development projects
- Familiarity with local UAE authority processes and international design standards
Skills:
- Proficiency with design management and construction software such as PROCORE, ACONEX, PLANGRID
- Advanced contract and stakeholder management skills
- Strong leadership and coordination abilities in multidisciplinary environments
