Sr. Category Specialist – IT Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
Majid Al Futtaim Global Solutions is hiring a Senior Category Specialist to manage procurement activities for IT categories, including hardware, software, shared services, and technology solutions. Based in Cairo, Egypt, this role is responsible for executing sourcing strategies, conducting tenders, and managing supplier contracts across operating companies and regions.

What Does a Sr. Category Specialist Do?
The Senior Category Specialist leads sourcing operations for assigned IT procurement categories. This includes managing RFX processes, negotiating supplier agreements, and ensuring stakeholder alignment. The role is central to delivering cost optimization, vendor compliance, and long-term value across Majid Al Futtaim’s digital and technology investments.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Lead sourcing activities for technology and IT services categories across all MAF entities
- Engage internal stakeholders to gather procurement requirements and ensure alignment
- Drive cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across procurement functions
- Coordinate RFX processes, including tenders, contract negotiations, and supplier evaluation
- Develop supplier awareness programs and manage vendor relationships to ensure performance
- Monitor compliance with procurement policies and contractual obligations
- Generate and report KPIs to measure category performance and sourcing effectiveness
- Act as the point of contact between procurement and business units for strategic IT-related purchasing
What Skills Are Needed for a Senior Procurement Role in Cairo?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
- Procurement certifications such as MCIPS are a plus
Experience:
- At least 6 years of total procurement experience
- Minimum of 3 years in a senior role managing indirect procurement (preferably in IT or digital services)
- Familiarity with procurement tools, RFX processes, and contract management software
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of sourcing methodologies and vendor evaluation
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced negotiation and contract management capabilities
- Strategic thinking with analytical and reporting skills
