What Does a Senior Finance Manager Do?
The Senior Finance Manager partners with business leaders to shape financial strategy, analyze performance, and support the execution of growth initiatives. This role is central to budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and delivering actionable insights that impact the success of the Retail Discount business.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the Retail Discount business
- Partner with leadership teams to align financial goals with strategic business priorities
- Provide financial guidance on pricing, new product offerings, and promotional strategies
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure target achievement
- Analyze business performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare financial reports and dashboards to support executive decision-making
- Present complex data in a clear, business-friendly format to non-financial stakeholders
- Drive cost efficiency by analyzing cost structures and optimizing resource allocation
- Oversee the accuracy of financial statements, working closely with FP&A and Care office finance teams
- Support ad hoc initiatives and projects with robust financial modeling and analysis
What Skills Are Needed for a Finance Manager Role in Dubai?
Education & Certification:
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
Experience:
- 7+ years of finance experience, including 5+ years in finance business partnering
- Background in retail, consumer goods, or discount/value-driven business environments preferred
Skills:
- Deep understanding of financial planning, analysis, and performance reporting
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to interpret and simplify complex data for actionable decision-making
