Azizi Developments is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the strategic development and operational execution of its new Solar Power Plant ventures in Afghanistan. This role will be based at the Azizi Head Office in Dubai, with frequent travel to Afghanistan. As a leader in Dubai’s real estate sector now expanding into renewable energy, Azizi offers a unique opportunity to shape sustainable energy infrastructure in emerging markets.

What Does a General Manager – Solar Power Projects Do?
- Provide end-to-end leadership on solar energy development, from feasibility to execution
- Advise the board on energy strategies aligned with Azizi’s long-term growth vision
- Lead project design, evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with engineers, analysts, and legal teams to ensure successful delivery
- Ensure project sustainability, technical reliability, and financial viability
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Identify and evaluate large-scale solar energy opportunities in Afghanistan
- Oversee feasibility studies, project scoping, and risk mitigation strategies
- Partner with local authorities, technical experts, and international consultants
- Develop and manage financing plans, cost analysis, and return on investment models
- Ensure compliance with local and international renewable energy regulations
- Represent Azizi in stakeholder meetings, board briefings, and industry forums
- Monitor implementation milestones, resource allocation, and project timelines
What Skills Are Needed for This Role?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, or Environmental Science
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in the renewable energy sector, with at least 5 years focused on solar energy projects
- Strong track record in solar PV project management, energy storage systems, and hybrid power solutions
- Experience in cross-border project execution and stakeholder management
Skills:
- Knowledge of grid integration, energy storage, and solar PV systems
- Strong background in financial modeling, feasibility assessments, and regulatory navigation
- Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills
- Ability to operate in multicultural and high-stakes environments
- Willingness to travel frequently between Dubai and Afghanistan
