What Does a Hostess Do at a Luxury Hotel Restaurant?
As a Hostess at Sofitel Dubai The Palm, you will be the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. Your role will involve greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth restaurant operations.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival
- Manage reservations, cancellations, and seating assignments
- Escort guests to their tables while maintaining seating flow
- Ensure special guest requests are accommodated
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the hostess desk and dining area
- Coordinate with service teams to ensure tables are ready
- Handle guest concerns professionally and proactively
- Monitor guest satisfaction through regular table visits
- Assist during busy hours to support restaurant operations
- Promote a cooperative, professional work environment
What Skills Are Needed for a Hostess Job in Dubai?
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant guest services preferred
- Food safety certification is an advantage
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, professional demeanor with strong guest service focus
- Familiarity with reservation software and basic computer literacy
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Fluency in English; other language skills are a plus
