What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Ensure all sound and lighting (S&L) equipment is maintained, clean, and operational
- Set up and operate sound mixers (digital and analog), CD players, sound processors, and speaker systems
- Manage projection systems, visual splitters, truss construction, and lighting desks with DMX addressing and programming
- Conduct regular equipment inventory and maintain an archive of hotel music used for entertainment, bars, and common areas
- Oversee sound checks and stage setups for bands, singers, and conference guests
- Support hotel events and conferences by managing AV needs professionally and efficiently
- Play professionally curated music tailored to guest profiles during scheduled programs
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations during evening shows, recreational activities, and meetings
- Maintain a weekly shift schedule for the S&L team and manage team responsibilities
- Uphold safety standards and compliance when handling electrical and AV equipment
What Skills Are Needed for a Sound and Light Technician in Abu Dhabi?
Education:
- Diploma or technical certificate in Electrical Engineering or Audio Visual Technology
Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role in a hotel, resort, or live event venue
Skills:
- Proficiency in sound mixing, lighting programming, and stage setup
- Strong knowledge of AV systems, projection technology, and digital/analog audio equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure
- Good communication skills in English
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
