What Does a Senior Internal Auditor Do?
The Senior Auditor will be responsible for executing audit projects, evaluating business processes, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of internal controls within the organization. This role involves direct coordination with business units to ensure transparency, compliance, and risk mitigation.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Execute internal audit engagements as per audit plans and timelines
- Draft high-quality audit reports in compliance with internal standards
- Maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders and escalate issues as necessary
- Review risk and control matrices, update audit process documentation, and prepare process flow charts
- Follow up on management action plans and track the resolution of audit issues
- Identify control weaknesses and recommend enhancements to processes
- Ensure all audit documentation is clear, complete, and supports findings
- Maintain compliance with internal audit methodologies, policies, and ethical guidelines
- Participate in the development of process risk assessments and internal audit frameworks
- Seek ongoing professional development in specialized audit focus areas
What Skills Are Needed for a Senior Auditor Role in Dubai?
Education & Certification:
- Pursuing or partially completed professional certification (e.g., CIA, CPA, CISA, ACCA) in a relevant audit field
- Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline
Experience:
- 3+ years of professional experience in internal auditing, preferably in retail, lifestyle, or holding company environments
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to audit quality
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
- Good understanding of risk management, compliance, and internal controls
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in creating audit documentation and flowcharts
