What Does an Opera General Manager Do?
The Opera General Manager – Operations plays a critical leadership role in the successful execution of productions, events, and programs. From managing large-scale budgets to overseeing production logistics and team leadership, this role ensures the seamless execution of cultural and entertainment initiatives at one of Dubai’s most anticipated venues.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Oversee daily operational activities of the opera company, including facilities, production logistics, and administrative support
- Coordinate with the Artistic Director and technical production teams to ensure smooth and timely execution of opera productions and live performances
- Plan and execute major events including galas, fundraisers, community programs, and cultural festivals
- Lead, train, and evaluate operational staff to maintain a high-performance team culture
- Develop and manage operating budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and sustainable financial performance
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, legal regulations, and international standards for event management
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with vendors, cultural organizations, patrons, and sponsors
What Skills Are Needed for an Opera General Manager in Dubai?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Business Management, or related field
Experience:
- At least 15 years of experience in performing arts, live entertainment, or opera operations
- Demonstrated track record in production management, facility oversight, and event coordination within a high-profile arts institution
